Get Help from FISH
ALL F.I.S.H. SERVICES ARE PROVIDED AT NO CHARGE. Below is information on how to get help with Food, Clothing, Layettes, Medical Equipment, and Rides to Medical Appointments. For emergency help with rent or utilities, visit our Rent Assistance and Utilities Assistance pages.
For grocery pickup: Call F.I.S.H. at 996-0111 weekdays between 9 a.m. – noon, except holidays. The Food Room is open for food pickup each weekday (except on Wednesdays) at 1:30 p.m. Food is available to anyone who calls in that day before noon. Nutritious groceries include enough for 3-5 days of meals and are geared to accommodate the size of each family.
For grocery delivery to home-bound seniors: On the first Wednesday and third Wednesday of each month, FISH volunteers provide supplemental food deliveries for home-bound seniors. Any senior without transportation to pick up food at the FISH Food Closet may request to be added to these home delivery programs. Call 996-0111.
To borrow medical equipment: F.I.S.H. has medical equipment (e.g. wheelchairs, walkers) that has been donated and is available to borrow. Email FISHmedical5070@gmail.com or call 996-0111.
To schedule rides to medical appointments: call us at 996-0111 if you need rides to medical appointments and are unable to use local transportation such as buses and Volunteer Wheels. Please schedule your ride at least one week in advance of your appointment. Rides are provided locally by our volunteer drivers as well as out-of-town, however, rides to San Francisco, Oakland and Davis are hard to fill and may not be available. Persons who are able to take the bus or use Sonoma County Paratransit can request tickets from FISH.
For clothing or household items: Visit the FISH Clothes Closet, 18330 Sonoma Highway 12 (entrance on Sierra Drive) to select clothing on Tuesdays and Fridays between 10 a.m. and noon and Wednesdays between 1 - 3 p.m.
For newborn layettes: Layettes are available by calling FISH at 996-0111, going to the Clothing Room or at Sonoma Valley Community Health Clinic. Disposable diapers are also available at the Food Room. Layettes assembled by FISH for newborns and their moms include a homemade quilt from the Sonoma Valley Quilters, diapers, onesies, sweater, hat, booties, wipes, shampoo and other items.
